Amgen Environmental Body Limited is an organisation who obtains its funding from Amgen Cymru (Cynon Valley Waste Disposal Co Ltd) Llwydcoed, near Aberdare through landfill tax which is a tax payable to dispose of waste at its landfill site.
The funding that is obtained is used to support projects that are received to improve the environment of the community by means of refurbishment programmes.

The main aim of the Environmental Body is to provide, maintain, restore or repair any building, structure, public park, or other place of historic interest that is considered a public amenity.

Examples of our projects include:

• Providing disabled facilities at Green Street Chapel Aberdare and an extensive refurbishment programme.

• St Winifreds Church Penywaun where the Environmental Body supported a refurbishment programme to incorporate a Church, Community Centre that included internal and external disabled facilities.

• At Aberdare RFC support was provided to renew the roof over the Grandstand (removing asbestos) and to install a hoist that enabled wheelchair users to sit in the stand to watch the rugby.

• Re-gilding the lettering on the Cenotaph in Aberdare and War Memorial in Llwydcoed.

The Environmental Body has its registered office at Bryn Pica, Llwydcoed, near Aberdare and supports projects when funds are available from applicants who are within a ten mile radius of Bryn Pica landfill site. All projects are submitted to ENTRUST, the Regulator of the Landfill Communities Fund, for approval and who issue a registration number.
